School Meals

School Meals

Our school kitchen is run by Shire Services who offer a variety of meals with a three week menu, they also offer special themed menus throughout the year. We have maintained a 5 star hygiene rating for many years with the last inspection being June 2023.
The two course hot meal with a choice of main and dessert currently costs £2.45. There is always water available.

From September 2014 all children in EYFS/KS1 have been eligible for a free school dinner (UIFSM – Universal Infant Free School Meal). We do ask parents who would be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) to complete a form so your child, and the school benefit from the additional pupil premium funding, even if they are entitled to the UIFSM. Please see the office staff for a form or if you have any questions.

We adhere to the new School Food standards that came into force in January 2015. Please see the document below for further information.

Packed Lunches

As an alternative to school meals, children are able to bring in packed lunches which they can eat in our school hall alongside those having cooked meals. We ask parents to consider health and nutrition in the preparation of the packed lunches.

Snacks

All children in KS1 are provided with a piece of fruit at break time. Children in KS2 may bring in a piece of natural (not processed) fruit for break time, a yoghurt or a plain breakfast biscuit. Children are not allowed any other types of biscuit.
